BCCI announces squads for second round of Duleep Trophy 2024-25

The second round of Duleep Trophy 2024-25 will be played from September 12.
On Tuesday, the BCCI announced the squads for the second round of the ongoing Duleep Trophy 2024-25, which will start on September 12.
There are a few changes in the squads of three teams, with one team remaining unchanged, as the Indian players bound for the first test against Bangladesh have been replaced.
The players who played in the first round of matches but will not be part of the second round are India A captain Shubman Gill, KL Rahul, Dhruv Jurel, Kuldeep Yadav, Akash Deep, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Rishabh Pant, Yash Dayal and Axar Patel.
Mayank Agarwal has been named as the captain of India A, replacing Gill. Uttar Pradesh’s Rinku Singh, who was not part of the first round of matches, has been added to the India B team.
Pratham Singh, Akshay Wadkar, Shaik Rasheed, Shams Mulani and Aaqib Khan are added to the India A squad. Suyash Prabhudessai and Rinku are added to the India B squad, and Nishant Sindhu replaces Axar in India D.
India C are unchanged as the team didn’t include any player who was picked for the first Bangladesh test.
Notably, Sarfaraz Khan, who is named in the 16-man squad to take on Bangladesh in Chennai, will feature in the second round of the Duleep Trophy 2024-25.
Further, pacer Tushar Deshpande is ruled out of the second round due to a niggle and he will be replaced by India A’s Vidwath Kaverappa.
The second round of Duleep Trophy 2024-25 matches will be played at the Rural Development Trust Stadium and ACA ADCA Ground, both in Anantapur.
