[Watch] Tanzim Hasan Sakib shatters Virat Kohli's stumps in Super 8 clash between India and Bangladesh

Tanzim Hasan Sakib removed Virat Kohli for 37 runs in their Super 8 clash at the ICC T20 World Cup 2024.

Bangladesh speedster Tanzim Hasan Sakib dismissed dangerous Indian batter Virat Kohli for 37 runs during their Super 8 (Group 1) clash at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium in North Sound, Antigua, on June 22 in the ongoing ICC T20 World Cup 2024.

After being asked to bat first, Indian openers Kohli and Rohit Sharma provided a brisk start in the powerplay. Skipper Rohit was dismissed by Bangladesh veteran spinner Shakib Al Hasan for 23 runs. The Men in Blue scored 53/1 in the first six overs.

Tanzim Hasan Sakib gets the prized wicket of Kohli

Bangladesh skipper Najmul Hasan Shanto brought his ace pacer Tanzim into the attack to bowl the ninth over of the first innings in the hope of getting their second breakthrough. The pacer didn’t disappoint his captain as he removed the well-set Kohli.

On the very first delivery, Tanzim bowled a back-of-length slower ball in line of the stumps. Kohli charged down the wicket for a big stroke. However, he was duped by the lack of pace on the delivery and the ball crashed into the stumps.

Kohli departed after scoring 37 runs off 28 balls, which included three sixes and one four. On the third delivery of the same over, Tanzim removed the No. 1 ICC T20I batsman Suryakumar Yadav for just six runs and ended his over by picking up two crucial wickets.
