"Team India won everyone's heart in Cricket World Cup 2023"- PM Narendra Modi on "Mann Ki Baat"
PM Narendra Modi lauded Team India for their performance in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023.
The wait for Team India to win an ICC Cricket World Cup was almost over when India reached the final of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 at home without losing a game. Everyone thought that Rohit Sharma and his men would repeat their glory of 2011 when MS Dhoni led the country to the World Cup at home. But their unbeaten run ended in the all-important final.
Australia thrashed India in the final at the Narendra Modi International Cricket Stadium to win their sixth world title. On the other hand, India suffered a heartbreaking defeat and were left empty-handed despite playing so well throughout the competition. Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi also lauded the efforts of the team in the “Mann ki Baat” while addressing the nation on the last day of the year.
