List of teams which have qualified for ICC Cricket World Cup 2027
Several teams have secured direct qualification ahead of the 2027 World Cup.
The ICC Cricket World Cup 2027 will be the 14th edition of the men’s ODI World Cup and will be jointly hosted by South Africa, Zimbabwe and Namibia. The tournament is scheduled to be played in October and November 2027.
The qualification process for the tournament is being conducted through the ICC’s ODI qualification pathway. The Cricket World Cup 2027 will feature 14 teams, with the hosts and the highest-ranked teams from the qualification process securing direct berths.
With the qualification process progressing, several teams have already confirmed their places in the tournament. The remaining spots will be decided through the designated qualification routes.
Teams qualified for ICC Cricket World Cup 2027
South Africa and Zimbabwe have qualified as the host nations for the Cricket World Cup 2027. India, Australia, New Zealand, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and England have also secured direct qualification based on their position in the ICC ODI qualification process.
Afghanistan became the latest team to secure direct qualification after their victory over Ireland in the third ODI of their series. Afghanistan’s win gave them an unassailable lead in the series and confirmed their place at the Cricket World Cup 2027. So far, 10 teams have qualified for the 14-team tournament.
West Indies have failed to secure direct entry and will thus participate in the World Cup Qualifier to qualify. Meanwhile, the other four spots will be filled through the qualification process.
The tournament will mark Namibia’s first time hosting matches at a men’s ODI World Cup. It will also be the first 14-team men’s ODI World Cup since the 2015 edition, after the 2019 and 2023 tournaments featured 10 teams.
The remaining qualification places will be decided through the ICC’s prescribed pathway, meaning the final line-up for the Cricket World Cup 2027 is yet to be completed. The confirmed teams will now begin preparing for the tournament while the sides still in contention continue their respective qualification campaigns.
