4 – Vaibhav Suryavanshi – 12 Years 284 Days (Bihar) vs Mumbai, Ranji Trophy 2023-24 :
Ranji Trophy 2023-24 is underway and one player that has caught attention of many for various reasons. He is the youngster player from Bihar who made his debut against Mumbai in the ongoing Ranji Trophy 2023-24 in Patna. He is Vaibhav Suryavanshi, who is currently 12 years and 284 days old and is the youngest in the ongoing tournament. Though there are some speculations that he is 14 years old, but on paper he is currently 12 years and 284 days.
3 – Mohammad Ramzan – 12 Years 247 Days (Northern India) vs United Provinces, Ranji Trophy 1937-38
Northern India cricket team was part of Ranji Trophy between the 1934/35 – 1946/47 editions. A player named Mohammad Ramzan made debut for them during the 1937-38 season, who became the third-youngest player to feature at Indian domestic circuit. He made his debut against United Provinces at the age of 12 years and 247 days old.
2 – SK Bose – 12 Years 76 Days (Bihar) vs Assam, Ranji Trophy 1959-60
Bihar have given some of the youngest cricketers in Indian domestic circuit. They played in Ranji Trophy from the 1936-37 season until 2004 and then re-entered back in 2018. During the 1959/60 edition, a player named SK Bose made debut for them in a game against Assam. He was 12 years and 76 days old during his debut game. Bose played for Bihar until 1974-75 edition.
1. Alimuddin – 12 Years 73 Days (Rajputana) vs Baroda, Ranji Trophy 1942-43:
Not just in India, the youngest player to play a first-class game irrespective of the country is an Indian. He made his debut for Rajputana Cricket team during Ranji Trophy 1942–43. Rajputana Team are now known as Rajasthan Cricket Team, and the player who made debut for them was Alimuddin, who played his first match against Baroda at the age of 12 years and 73 days. He is the youngest player across the globe to play in any domestic cricket match.
