Pat Cummins was bought by SRH for 20.5 crores in IPL 2024 auction.

Pat Cummins, the highly regarded Australian cricket team skipper known for his exceptional skills with ball, made a significant comeback in IPL 2024 auction scene. In a significant decision, he chose to skip IPL 2023, emphasizing his unwavering commitment to national duties, particularly focusing on prestigious tournaments such as the Ashes series and the recently concluded ICC Cricket World Cup 2023, highlighting his dedication to represent his country.

As IPL 2024 auction is going on, Pat Cummins, with a base price of 2 crores, became the focal point of an intense bidding war between Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH). Ultimately, SRH secured his services for a staggering price of 20.50 crores, establishing Cummins as the second most expensive player in the history of IPL after Mitchell Starc.

While Cummins’ record-breaking bid understandably took center stage, SRH owner Kavya Maran garnered attention on social media for reasons unrelated to the bidding dynamics during the event in Dubai.

The Coca-Cola Arena is hosting this mini auction. SRH head coach Daniel Vettori assumed the role of advisor-in-chief as Kavya Maran orchestrated a successful bid of Rs. 20.5 crores to secure the services of Pat Cummins.

In the aftermath of the high-profile auction, Twitter witnessed a flurry of reactions, with users playfully trolling Kavya Maran as SRH acquired Pat Cummins for a whopping 20.5 crores in the IPL 2024 auction.
