Virat Kohli is celebrating his 35th birthday on 5th November, 2023.

India’s chase master Virat Kohli is celebrating his 35th birthday on Sunday, and the entire Eden Gardens in Kolkata has been decked out to celebrate Kohli’s big day. Virat Kohli will be taking on South African bowlers at Eden Gardens in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023. Cricket Association of Bengal has made several preparations to make this day unforgettable for Indian batting star as a grand celebration awaits the chase master.

Before the clash, a few surprises were waiting for the fans, and Indian batting legend celebrated his big day on Sunday. Virat Kohli has so far smashed 48 ODI centuries in his career, and is eyeing a for his 49th. Kohli needs one more to equal Sachin Tendulkar’s record of hitting the most number of centuries in ODIs. To celebrate his past performance, a special arrangement was made by Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB).

Special cutouts of Virat Kohli placed outside Eden Gardens

48 different cutouts were placed on the Red Road of Kolkata, which was heading straight to Eden Garden. All 48 cutouts represented the 48 centuries that Virat Kohli has smashed in his ODI career so far. All had Virat Kohli raising his bat in celebration after reaching the milestone. This was a special gesture to celebrate Kohli’s big day as well as a gesture to appreciate the kind of consistency he had in his career in the limited-overs format.

Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) will be distributing 70,000 face masks to the fans to celebrate Virat’s big day at Eden Gardens. He will also be presented with a golden bat by CAB. BCCI didn’t want to make it a conflict of interest case, and CAB had to drop multiple plans they brought in to celebrate. BCCI didn’t want to create any marking issues with the World Cup broadcaster.

Virat Kohli has played 289 ODI games for India since making his debut in 2008, right after winning the Under-19 World Cup in Malaysia as captain. Virat Kohli is among the top run-scorers in this format and has scored 13525 runs in 276 innings. Virat has smashed 48 ODI centuries and is just 2 away from the world record. He was part of the 2011 World Cup-winning team and also led team India in the 2019 World Cup in England.
