Virat Kohli will make his Indian return in the ODI series against Australia.

Batting legend Virat Kohli is all set to return to Indian Cricket Team in the upcoming ODI series against Australian Cricket Team. With opening game in Perth around the corner, he came up with a heart-warming gesture for a Pakistani fan.

Kohli, along with Rohit Sharma, who last represented India during ICC Champions Trophy 2025 in March, and will make a comeback in the national jersey after a long gap of seven months. They have been preparing for the Australia series over the last two months. Recently, they also reportedly passed fitness tests conducted by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).

Indian players touched down in Perth on Thursday morning and have been training hard for the opening game, scheduled to be played on October 19 at Perth Cricket Stadium.

Kohli, who owns a wonderful record on Australian soil, was greeted by fans upon his arrival in Perth. Fans arrived in huge numbers to have a glimpse of the batting legend, and one Pakistani fan even urged Kohli to give his autograph on India and Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) jerseys.

Kohli obliged to his request and signed both the jerseys and the video of the moment is winning hearts of many on social media platform X (formerly Twitter).

Moreover, videos of Indian Cricket Team’s training session in Perth were shared on social media, in which Kohli was seen in action. The right-handed batsman owns an impressive record on Australian soil in the 50-over format, scoring 1327 runs in 29 games at an average of 51.03. With a top knock of unbeaten 133 runs, Kohli has hammered five tons and six half-centuries in Australia.

Meanwhile, both senior members Rohit and Kohli will be in focus during the ODI series against Australia. Following their retirement from test cricket and T20Is, their focus will be to play in ICC Cricket World Cup 2027, scheduled to be played in South Africa, Zimbabwe, and Namibia in October and November 2027.
