Viv Richards gives India an important advice ahead of semi-finals of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023

Viv Richards wants India should carry on their positive approach to win the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023.
Team India have been superb in the ongoing ICC Cricket World Cup 2023. They have won all eight matches so far and are undefeated. They became the first team to qualify for the semi-finals, and it looks like they will end up winning all the games heading into the knockout stages. India will play their final group match on Sunday against Netherlands in Bengaluru. However, the biggest question is whether India can continue the same and win their third World title, or will they once again fail in the knockouts?
However, West Indies legend Viv Richards has his say for Indian team. Richards wants that India should continue to play positively irrespective of the situation and end their ICC trophy drought in this tournament. He also said that India should stay unbeaten and add the third world title in their history after 1983 and 2011.
ICC Cricket World Cup 2023: “Go out with all guns blazing”-Viv Richards feels India should end the tournament undefeated
Team India have looked pretty good in the competition and have won against all of their opponents. However, the biggest challenge will come in the knockout games. India have played a number of knockout matches in the last decade or so but have not won a single ICC title. However, Richards feels that this could be India’s tournament. He said, “India have a mindset that they can go all the way playing like this.”
West Indies legend added, “I believe they can go all the way unbeaten, which is really something to strive for. There may be some fears of ‘we have played so well so far, there may be a bad game around the corner in the semi-final’. They have to try and nullify those and banish any negative thoughts.” It will be a battle of nerves from here on because India have played the best cricket in this tournament.
A lot will also depend on how Virat Kohli performs in the remaining games. He is India’s leading run-scorer and will be the big-match player. Richards said that he is a big fan of Virat’s attitude and the way he performs on the field. He said, “Virat is a go-getter and what sets him apart is his mental strength.” The legend also named Shubman Gill, who can be the game-changer for the team and will be the player to watch out for.
