Watch: Akash Madhwal castles Heinrich Klaasen & Harry Brook in consecutive deliveries
SRH posted 200/5 in 20 overs, while Mumbai Indians pacer Akash Madhwal took 4/37.
Mumbai Indians (MI) pacer Akash Madhwal left a lasting imprint in their crucial final IPL 2023 league game against the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on May 21, 2023, as he castled the dangerous duo of Heinrich Klaasen & Harry Brook in consecutive deliveries to keep the final total to 200.
While SRH have already been eliminated from the playoffs race, MI need to win this encounter in order to keep their hopes of playoffs alive.
The luck was on MI captain Rohit Sharma’s side as he won the toss and chose to bowl first. MI made one change as Hrithik Shokeen made way for Kumar Karthikeya. SRH made changes as well as Kartik Tyagi and Umran Malik were included in the XI.
SRH openers Vivrant Sharma and Mayank Agarwal gave a dream start to the team as both hammered half-centuries and put on 140 for the first wicket in 14 overs. Vivrant fell to Akash Madhwal for 69 in 47 balls with 9 fours and 2 sixes.
Mayank Agarwal continued and made 83 in 46 balls with 8 fours and 4 sixes as SRH looked poised for a massive total.

However, the last four overs proved to be a huge comeback for MI bowlers as they build pressure after Vivrant and Mayank fell. Chris Jordan dismissed dangerous Glenn Phillips for 1 and then Akash Madhwal ended all hopes of a big total with a twin blow.
On the last two balls of the 19th over, Madhwal first dismissed Heinrich Klaasen for 18, clean bowling him as he tried to hoick an incoming delivery to the leg side and missed, while the ball clattered his middle stump.
Then the next ball saw Madhwal bowling a picture-perfect yorker to Harry Brook, whose dismal IPL 2023 ended with a golden duck.
