MS Dhoni remained unbeaten on 20 runs off four balls against MI at Wankhede.

In the Match No. 29 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 between arch-rivals Mumbai Indians (MI) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK), legendary cricketer MS Dhoni showcased his beast mode as he hammered MI skipper Hardik Pandya for three consecutive sixes at the Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai on April 14.

After being asked to bat first, CSK took some time to stabilize their innings. However, with fifties from captain Ruturaj Gaikwad (69) and Shivam Dube (66), they reached 180 at the end of 19th over.

However, in the 20th over, skipper Pandya came into the attack. In the second ball of the over, he removed Daryl Mitchell for 17 runs. The Wankhede Stadium erupted after Mitchell’s dismissal as the greatest finisher, Dhoni, walked out to bat with just four balls remaining in the innings.

On the third ball of the final over, Hardik bowled a slower delivery around the off stump, and Dhoni dispatched it over long-off for maximum. On the very next delivery, Pandya bowled another slot ball, and Dhoni once again smashed it over wide long-on for back-to-back sixes.

On the fifth delivery, Dhoni completed a hat-trick of sixes as he hit Pandya’s full toss towards deep square leg. On the very last ball, Dhoni took a double to complete his innings at 20* in four balls. His cameo powered CSK cross 200 and post a total of 206/4.
