[Watch] SRH captain Pat Cummins plays cricket with school kids in Hyderabad

Pat Cummins-led SRH have already qualified for the IPL 2024 playoffs.

Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) captain Pat Cummins was spotted enjoying a game of cricket with government school kids in Hyderabad during his off days from the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024.

After rain washed out the match No. 66 between SRH and Gujarat Titans (GT) in the ongoing season, Hyderabad qualified for the playoffs with 15 points. Cummins-led Hyderabad became the third team to qualify for the playoffs after Kolkata Knight Riders and Rajasthan Royals. They will play their last league stage match against the Punjab Kings on May 19.

The Hyderabad-based franchise bought Cummins for a whopping price of Rs. 20.50 crore during the IPL 2024 mini-auction. After this, Cummins replaced Aiden Markram to become the new captain of SRH ahead of the tournament.

However, it was a brilliant move by the franchise as Cummins has changed fortunes of the SRH side as they qualified for the playoffs after having a poor campaign last year under Markram’s leadership.

Pat Cummins spotted playing cricket with school kids

After rain washed out SRH’s penultimate league stage game against GT, a video of SRH skipper is going viral on social media, where the 31-year-old was seen enjoying cricket in Hyderabad on May 17. Cummins was seen batting while school kids were bowling him as everyone shared a good moment between themselves.

Apart from his captaincy, Cummins has also done well with the ball in the ongoing season. Cummins has scalped 14 wickets so far at an average of 31.71 with an economy of 9.25.

The pacer led Australia to two ICC trophies in 2023. Cummins-led side won the World Test Champions Final and the ODI World Cup Final. On both occasions, they won the match against India. Cummins will now aim to win the IPL 2024 trophy for SRH and establish himself as one of the finest captains currently in world cricket.
