Watch: Shubman Gill drops the F-bomb after getting dismissed vs MI
Shubman Gill made a half-century before falling to Kumar Karthikeya Singh.
Gujarat Titans batter Shubman Gill was an unhappy man as he threw away his wicket after getting set for a big one and mouthed “F**K OFF” while exiting the field in his team’s match against Mumbai Indians (MI) on April 25, 2023, in the ongoing IPL 2023.
The match is being played at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad and sees Gujarat Titans, who are placed fourth on the IPL 2023 points table with 8 points clash with Mumbai Indians who are placed 7th on the points table with 6 points.
Rohit Sharma won the toss and chose to chase. He informed that Jofra Archer was not playing as he was unwell and Riley Meredith replaced him in the XI. Also, Kumar Karthikeya Singh came in for Hrithik Shokeen in the spin department.
Gujarat Titans, on the other hand, came in with the same team, with just Vijay Shankar being included in the XI and Sai Sudharsan still missing out.
Shubman Gill unhappy with his dismissal despite good start, mouths expletive
Wriddhiman Saha’s poor run of form with the bat continued as he fell to Arjun Tendulkar for 4 runs and then Hardik Pandya fell to Piyush Chawla for 13 runs. But then Shubman Gill changed his gears and made 56 runs in 34 balls with 7 fours and 1 six.
However, in the 12th over of the match, Kumar Karthikeya Singh managed to entice Shubman Gill into playing a false shot. Karthikeya bowled a full delivery on the middle stump and Shubman stepped out to meet the ball at the perfect spot.
However, he got too much near to the ball and couldn’t manage to get the elevation like Hardik Pandya and only managed to find Suryakumar Yadav at the long-on boundary, who took an easy catch well inside the rope.
In frustration of throwing his wicket away, Shubman Gill mouthed “F**K OFF” as he walked back.
