Is there anything left for the Chennai Super Kings' captain MS Dhoni to achieve as a cricketer?

KKR secured a convincing 6-wicket victory over CSK in the 61st match of IPL 2023 to keep their hopes alive of making it to the playoffs.

After winning the toss and electing to bat first, CSK struggled to score runs against KKR's spin-heavy attack led by Varun Chakravarthy and Sunil Narine, who picked up two wickets each. Despite a late flourish by Shivam Dube, CSK only managed to reach a below-par score of 144/6 in their 20 overs. In reply, KKR got off to a shaky start losing early wickets, but Nitish Rana and Rinku Singh steadied the ship with an excellent partnership of 99 runs for the fourth wicket. Rana remained unbeaten on 57 off 44 balls, guiding his team to victory with 9 balls to spare. KKR's win keeps them alive in the race for a spot in the playoffs.

Sunil Gavaskar's fan moment with Dhoni

Although the partnership between Rana and Rinku was impressive, the most memorable moment of the night occurred after the match. While MS Dhoni and his CSK teammates were taking a victory lap around the Chepauk stadium to show appreciation to the fans, Sunil Gavaskar, the former Indian cricket captain and current member of the IPL 2023 commentary team, rushed over to Dhoni and asked for his autograph on his shirt. Following the autograph moment, Dhoni and Gavaskar shared a hug.

After getting the autograph on his shirt, Gavaskar said on-air: "Please give me a new pink shirt for the remaining games".
