Watch: Tim David smashes 3 consecutive sixes off Jason Holder in the last over to win it for MI
Tim David spoiled Rajasthan Royals' night with a hat-trick of sixes in the final over.
Tim David produced one of the best finishes in IPL 2023, courtesy of his three consecutive sixes off Jason Holder to win the game for Mumbai Indians. Needing 17 runs in the last over to win the game was never going to be easy, especially, against someone with a quality like Jason Holder who is well-known for his death bowling flair. Tonight was just not the game for him as the West Indian all-rounder missed his mark and paid the price. He ended up with the figures of 3.3-0-55-0 which is the third most expensive spell this season and the most costliest spell bowled by a Rajasthan Royals bowler this season.
Three full tosses to Tim David and he didn't miss any. The first one was lofted straight down the ground for a maximum while the other two were clobbered over the mid-wicket region for two humongous sixes. Tim David came in to bat when the team required 61 runs in 26 balls. Tim struck more sixes than fours in his knock of 45* in just 14 balls.

Tim has been in good form this season with already a few games in his pocket as a finisher. The Aussie all-rounder has scored 158 runs in 8 innings thus far with his highest score of 458 coming in this match.
Rohit Sharma gets a perfect gift from his team in the 1000th game of IPL
Celebrating Rohit Sharma's 10 years in Mumbai Indians, his birthday, and the 1000th game in IPL, Mumbai Indians and Rohit Sharma could not have asked for a better night. With a win by six wickets, MI were able to break their string of two losses. One of the best chases this season, Mumbai Indians pulled off a game that at once looked slipping away from their grip.
After their bowlers were bludgeoned by Yashasvi Jaiswal, it was now the chance for the MI batters to return the favour. Cameron Green, Suryakumar Yadav, and Tim David were the main orchestrators in MI's hunt to chase down a total of 212 runs. The assault on the RR bowlers started to take shape when Cameron Green walked out. It was carried on by Suryakumar Yadav's 360-degree play and in the end, it was Tim David's power-hitting rendition that sealed the game for MI.
