Sachin Tendulkar is not the most searched cricketer on Google.

While the cricketing universe boasts iconic figures like Sachin Tendulkar, a recent revelation by Google has unveiled a new name in the search charts.

In the vast universe of cricketing legends, one name that resonates across boundaries is Virat Kohli. Google, the search engine giant, recently announced its list of the most searched topics in its 25-year history, and standing tall at the summit of cricketers was none other than Kohli himself.

Virat Kohli is the most searched cricketer

Cricketing world has witnessed the rise and fall of numerous stars, from the iconic Sachin Tendulkar to the cool and composed MS Dhoni and the explosive Rohit Sharma. However, in the digital age, where information is at our fingertips, it is Kohli who has captured the attention of fans worldwide, earning the title of the ‘most searched cricketer’ in Google’s illustrious history.

Although Kohli is ranked the highest among cricket players, he lost the title of “most searched athlete” to football legend Cristiano Ronaldo. The 38-years-old Portuguese mastermind, who is currently playing for the Saudi Arabian team Al-Nassr, is still the most searched-keyword.

Kohli, a cricketing maestro in his own right, is not just admired for his on-field skills. Surprisingly, Indian cricket star has expressed his admiration for Cristiano Ronaldo in multiple interviews. The football legend’s impact on the global sports community, as seen in the FIFA World Cup 2022, prompted Kohli to share heartfelt sentiments on Instagram.

In a post dedicated to Ronaldo, Kohli wrote, “No trophy or any title can take anything away from what you’ve done in this sport and for sports fans around the world.”
