Delhi Capitals (DC) and Gujarat Titans (GT) are squaring off in match 14 of the Indian Premier League 2026. While Gujarat will aim for their first victory of the tournament, DC aim for their third straight win.
Gujarat lost their opening two games of IPL 2026 against Punjab Kings (PBKS) and Rajasthan Royals (RR). They were short of captain Shubman Gill in the previous game due to a muscle spasm, but he has returned to the playing XI vs Delhi. His addition was the only change that GT made in the encounter.
On the other hand, the Delhi Capitals won both of their previous games by successfully chasing down targets. Batter Sameer Rizvi delivered impeccable performance, scoring match-winning fifties in both games to bring the team home.
Moreover, DC’s bowling unit has also done a commendable job so far. They restricted opposition from reaching a big total in both the previous games, which ensured no pressure on batters while chasing.
In match 14 of IPL 2026, DC won the toss and opted to field against GT. They did not make any changes to their playing XI. Hence, batter Ashutosh Sharma did not get a chance in the playing XI once again.
Why is Ashutosh Sharma not part of DC’s playing XI vs GT?

Notably, Ashutosh has not found a place in the current DC’s playing 11. He is a lower-order batter known for his finishing skills. However, DC already have two finishers, Tristan Stubbs and David Miller.
Moreover, Delhi needed a good top-order batsman, and Sameer Rizvi has done a decent job since the last season. Hence, Ashutosh will have to wait for his chances. DC retained Ashutosh in their squad for INR 3.80 crore for IPL 2026.
