Jasprit Bumrah will play for the Mumbai Indians in IPL 2026.

Indian pacer Jasprit Bumrah is pulling his socks up for the Indian Premier League 2026, where he will play for the Mumbai Indians (MI). The tournament will commence on March 28, and MI will clash with Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in their opening game on March 29.

Bumrah is a crucial pacer for Mumbai and will lead the team’s pace attack in IPL 2026. Earlier this month, he played a key role in India’s victory in the 2026 T20 World Cup with his brilliant performance.

Clinching 14 wickets in 8 games at an average of 12.43, he was the joint-highest wicket-taker in the tournament with Varun Chakravarthy. For his 4-wicket haul in the final against New Zealand, he was adjudged Player of the Match.

Notably, four MI players who were part of the T20 World Cup squad were given an extended break before joining the camp. While the others joined the camp, Bumrah checked into the BCCI’s Centre of Excellence (CoE) in Bengaluru on Tuesday.

Rumours were rife that Bumrah visited the facility due to an injury scare. However, it has been confirmed that the MI pacer is not injured and is completely fit.

According to a report by ESPN Cricinfo, the right-arm pacer has checked into the Bengaluru facility to work on his strength and condition.

Notably, the BCCI medical team is carefully monitoring his workload with a focus on the white-ball tour of England in July. Bumrah will be a crucial member of the team in this campaign; India will play five T20Is and three ODIs.

The report also added that Bumrah will join the Mumbai Indians squad after checking out of CoE and will be available for the first game against KKR on March 29 in Mumbai.

Meanwhile, Hardik Pandya will lead MI in IPL 2026, where they will aim for their record sixth title. After the opening game against KKR on March 29, they will face Delhi Capitals at Arun Jaitley Stadium on April 4.

They will later face the Rajasthan Royals on April 7, followed by an encounter against the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) on April 12.
