Auqib Nabi replaced Nitish Kumar Reddy in Indian XI for second IND vs WI ODI.
India are taking on West Indies in the second ODI of the three-match series at the Barsapara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati. The hosts enter the match with a 1-0 lead after winning the opening game in Thiruvananthapuram.
India played exceptional cricket in the first ODI, with Shubman Gill and Virat Kohli scoring centuries. Kohli’s unbeaten 139 also helped him cross the 15,000-run mark in ODI cricket.
Kuldeep Yadav was another major positive for India after he picked up four wickets in the first game. India made one to their playing XI for the Guwahati match. Nitish Kumar Reddy was shockingly left out of the team.
India will look to continue their winning run in the series as they take on West Indies in the second ODI in Guwahati. West Indies, on the other hand, will be keen to bounce back after losing the opening match and level the three-match series.

Nitish Kumar Reddy has been left out of India’s playing XI for the second ODI against West Indies. Shubman Gill confirmed the change at the toss, with Auqib Nabi replacing Reddy and making his ODI debut.
The reason behind Reddy not being picked is still unknown, but it can be assumed that he was dropped owing to his poor performance in the opening match.
Reddy had featured in the first ODI and was used with the new ball. However, he conceded 45 runs from his five overs and did not take a wicket.
Gill highlighted the pitch conditions at the toss and said the surface had more grass and looked patchier. The India captain suggested that the conditions could offer more assistance to the pacers. This could be one reason why India changed their bowling combination for the second ODI.
With Nabi coming into the side, India will hope the change helps them make better use of the conditions. India will now aim to build on their first-match victory and take a 2-0 lead in the three-match series.
West Indies, meanwhile, need a win in Guwahati to level the series and force a decider in the third ODI.
