Mumbai Indians (MI) and Rajasthan Royals (RR) are squaring off in the Indian Premier League 2026 at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on May 24.
While, the Hardik Pandya & Co. have been eliminated from the tournament, RR have a chance to book a berth in the playoffs by winning this clash. They can become the fourth team to reach the playoffs if they defeat MI.
MI won the toss and opted to field first. Notably, pacer Sandeep Sharma and spinner Ravi Bishnoi are not part of RR’s playing XI. Sandeep was part of the previous game against LSG. Bishnoi last played in the clash against the Delhi Capitals on May 1.

Notably, RR have replaced Sandeep with Nandre Burger in the clash. They have overlooked Bishnoi once again with Yash Raj Punja being preferred as the frontline spinner. Moreover, captain Riyan Parag and Ravindra Jadeja returned to the playing XI after missing the previous game.
Speaking at the toss, Riyan Parag said, “We would have bowled first as well. We know this could be our last game of the season and we want to play as if it is, aiming for the win. Just really maximise those opportunities, go ahead and win. Three changes – Nandre (Burger) comes in, so does (Ravindra) Jadeja and myself.”
Bishnoi featured in nine games and clinched 11 wickets at an economy of 9.88. Sandeep has played six matches and picked five scalps at an economy of 11.38. He has emerged expensive and remained wicketless in a few games.
Meanwhile, Mumbai made just one change to their playing XI. Jasprit Bumrah was rested and replaced by Shardul Thakur in the playing XI.
