Why did Trent Boult miss DC vs MI clash of IPL 2026?

Mumbai Indians (MI) are clashing with Delhi Capitals (DC) in their second match of the Indian Premier League 2026. The DC vs MI clash got underway on April 4 (Saturday) at Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi.

Both teams won their previous game in the tournament. MI crushed KKR by six wickets in their opening game, where they chased down a mammoth 221-run total. Opener Rohit Sharma and Ryan Rickelton hammered half-centuries to play a crucial role in the victory.

In the DC vs MI clash, Delhi won the toss and opted to field first. Notably, pacer Trent Boult was not part of MI’s playing XI. He was part of the opening game against KKR, where he went wicketless in his four-over spell.

Notably, MI have replaced Boult with Corbin Bosch in the encounter. Also, Hardik Pandya missed the game as he was not well. Suryakumar is leading the team in the clash. They made one more change, replacing Allaf Ghazanfar with Mitchell Santner.

Speaking at the toss, Suryakumar Yadav said, “We wanted to bat first, they wanted to bowl first, but yeah, very happy to bat first. Looks good one. We’ve done here really well when we’ve batted first and defended. Quite a few changes. Deepak Chahar comes in for Hardik. Corbin Bosch comes in for Boulty, that’s a tactical change. Boulty had a good game in the last game at Wankhede. And Mitch Santner comes in for Allah Ghazanfar”.

Meanwhile, Mumbai grabbed the fifth spot in the points table with two points after one victory. DC are in the fourth spot with two points. They won their opening game of IPL 2026 against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) by six wickets, chasing a 142-run total with ease.
