Both teams won their previous game in the tournament. MI crushed KKR by six wickets in their opening game, where they chased down a mammoth 221-run total. Opener Rohit Sharma and Ryan Rickelton hammered half-centuries to play a crucial role in the victory.
In the DC vs MI clash, Delhi won the toss and opted to field first. Notably, pacer Trent Boult was not part of MI’s playing XI. He was part of the opening game against KKR, where he went wicketless in his four-over spell.

We’ve done here really well when we’ve batted first and defended. Quite a few changes. Deepak Chahar comes in for Hardik. Corbin Bosch comes in for Boulty, that’s a tactical change. Boulty had a good game in the last game at Wankhede. And Mitch Santner comes in for Allah Ghazanfar”.
Meanwhile, Mumbai grabbed the fifth spot in the points table with two points after one victory. DC are in the fourth spot with two points. They won their opening game of IPL 2026 against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) by six wickets, chasing a 142-run total with ease.
