Will Jacks has not played any games in IPL 2026 so far.
Arch-rivals Mumbai Indians (MI) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) are clashing in match 33 of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026. The game between the two teams is taking place at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Thursday, April 23.
Both teams had a poor start to their IPL 2026 campaign, winning just two games out of four. They have four points in their kitty, and would be eager for two points here.
In the MI vs CSK clash, Mumbai won the toss and opted to field first. It was expected that Will Jacks would be part of XI; however, just like other games, he yet again missed out.
Why is Will Jacks not playing MI vs CSK clash of IPL 2026?
The England all-rounder asked for an extended break after a a hectic international schedule and missed first six games for the franchise. He joined the side ahead of MI vs CSK clash, and was expected to walk straight into the XI.
But to many’s surprise, MI continued with the same XI as that of last game. Jacks’ absence is possibly due to the team combination and also the fact that Mitchell Santner and Allah Ghazanfar performed well in last game, the five-time champions continued with same side.
Jacks gave a brilliant performance in the T20 World Cup by winning four Player of the Match awards. He also played a crucial role in England’s victories in the Super Eight Round. MI would be hoping to use his form at some point of time as they eye their sixth title.
