Virat Kohli has scored 711 runs in 10 innings in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023.

India’s all-rounder Yuvraj Singh was part of the ICC Cricket World Cup-winning team in 2011. With his stunning all-round performance in the mega event, Yuvraj Singh became a hero-like figure for the nation. Similarly, Virat Kohli and the current Indian camp under Rohit Sharma are also running in high performance and have been unbeaten in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 so far. They will be taking on Australia in the World Cup final in Ahmedabad on Sunday.

Former Indian all-rounder Yuvraj Singh had a humorous take on one suggestion to keep a tri-series between the three different Indian teams from World Cup 2003, 2011, and 2023. Yuvraj Singh was talking about India’s current form, while he was asked about the winner of a fictitious tri-series between India’s 2003, 2011, and 2023 World Cup teams. The 2003 World Cup team lost in the final against Australia at Wanderers Stadium.

‘Depends on Virat’

India’s World Cup-winning all-rounder Yuvraj Singh humorously replied to the question, stating that it will depend on which side Virat Kohli will be on. Yuvraj Singh said, “The 2011 and 2023 Indian teams will have a tough fight. It depends on which team Virat is batting for (laughs). It depends on whether five fielders are inside the ring or outside. It depends on whether we have one new ball or two. But this current team certainly has many match-winners.”

Virat Kohli completed a record-breaking milestone with a century against New Zealand at Wankhede Stadium. He became the first-ever batter to complete 50th ODI centuries. Along with Virat Kohli’s century, Shreyas Iyer also smashed a century at Wankhede, and Yuvraj Singh highlighted Iyer’s batting effort in the semi-final game. Shreyas Iyer smashed a quick century against Kiwis in the semi-final game.

Yuvraj Singh said that Iyer was the reason why India scored 400 (397) on the board. Yuvraj added, “Virat Kohli’s 50th ODI hundred was great, and I feel he is the greatest batter of our generation. But I feel the main reason we were able to score 400 (397) was Shreyas Iyer. The way he scored his hundred off just 65 balls and the way he batted fearlessly are the reasons why we won the semifinal. This needs to be highlighted.” New Zealand fell short by just 70 runs.
