India announces basketball team for FISU World University Games 2025; Yashika Singhal, Krishnapalsinh Gohil to lead

India names squads for 2025 World University Basketball Games after Kochi training camp

Yashika Singhal from Rajasthan and Krishnapalsinh Gohil from Gujarat will lead the Indian University basketball team in the FISU World University Games 2025 to be held in Rhine-Ruhr, Germany, from July 16 to 27.

The women’s team trained by the international and captain of the Indian Team, C V Sunny, and men by Dhyan Chand Awardee and international Ram Kumar from Rajasthan, will be leaving after a 15-day Camp organised by Mahatma Gandhi University using the Starting Five RSC Basketball Academy world-class facilities at the regional Sports Center, Kochi.

Binu George Director of Physical Education of MG University is the Head of Delegation and assistant coaches are Johnson Thomas from Kerala State Sports Council (women) and Lokesh Mohan from Jain University (Men) and will be managed by Soumya Joseph from Christ University Bangalore and Sujith Surendran Nair from National University of advanced legal Studies, Kochi and Stalin Raphel from St Joseph’s College Irinjalakuda will accompany as Sport Psychologist.

Women’s India is in Group A along with Finland, Argentina, and Czechia, and Men’s India is in Group B along with the USA, Romania, and Latvia.
