The FISU World University Games 2025 will be played across multiple cities in Germany from July 16 to 27. The 32nd edition of the competition will consist of 10000+ student athletes from over 150 nations competing across 18 different sports.

Sports disciplines selected the 2025 edition of the FISU World University Games are archery, artistic gymnastics, athletics, badminton, basketball, diving, fencing, judo, rhythmic gymnastics, swimming, table tennis, taekwondo, tennis, volleyball, water polo, 3×3 basketball, beach volleyball, and rowing.

Team India will have a 300-member contingent in the tournament, competing across eight sports. This is India’s largest-ever contingent for the University Games, also known as the Olympics for University Athletes.

Meanwhile, around 95-member athletics contingent (49 male and 47 female) from India are expected to take the field in the 12-day-long event.

Indian athletes will compete in athletics, badminton, table tennis, tennis, volleyball, swimming, and basketball in Germany. They finished seventh in the medal tally at the FISU World University Games 2023 in Chengdu with 27 medals, including 11 gold, five silver, and 10 bronze.

Unlike the previous edition, shooting won’t be part of the sports disciplines scheduled to be played at the FISU World University Games 2025.
