The Nizams' tactician Manolo Marquez is currently the longest-serving manager in ISL.

Jamshedpur FC will take on Hyderabad FC on 8th November (Wednesday) at the JRD Tata Sports Complex in Jamshedpur. Hyderabad FC have started the ISL 2022-23 season on a high note after a draw in their first game. The Nizams have looked smooth in attack and solid at the back.

Meanwhile, Jamshedpur FC have found life tough under new coach Aidy Boothroyd. The Men of Steel are a good team on paper but are yet to get their combination right and get going. On that note, let us take a look at the detailed preview of the match.

The Stakes

Jamshedpur FC

Jamshedpur FC have a tough task ahead in the campaign considering their performances till now. Failing to defend the title this season will be a setback for the club. The club sits in ninth position with four points from probable twelve. The team looks to end up on the wrong side if they don’t overturn their results before it’s too late. In order to get back among the contenders, big signings like Jay Emmanuel-Thomas and Wellington Priori need to deliver on the pitch.

Hyderabad FC

Manolo Marquez’s men will be looking to defend their title and replicate last season’s dream run. Hyderabad FC find themselves at the top with a handsome thirteen points from five games. The expectations are monumental this season for the club. They narrowly missed out on the League Shield last season after losing to Jamshedpur FC. This term, Hyderabad will look to grab both prizes and take each game at a time.

Team News

Jamshedpur FC will miss the services of Eli Sabia for the next 2-3 weeks due to injury. There are chances of Jay Emmanuel-Thomas starting against Hyderabad FC.

The Nizams meanwhile, have a fully fit squad except the young Rohit Danu, who is still out with an injury.

Head-to-Head

Jamshedpur FC have clearly dominated the Nizams whenever the two sides have met. In the six games, the Men of Steel have won two of them and shared the spoils on four occasions. Manolo Marquez’s men fall behind in terms of goals as well. They have scored four goals compared to the nine scored by Jamshedpur FC.

Probable Line-ups

Jamshedpur FC: TP Rehenesh (GK); Laldinliana Renthlei, Pratik Chaudhari, Peter Hartley, Ricky Lallawmawma; Boris Singh, Wellington Priori, Jitendra Singh, Ritwik Das; Jay Emmanuel-Thomas, Daniel Chima Chukwu

Hyderabad FC: Laxmikant Kattimani (GK); Nikhil Poojary, Chinglensana Singh, Odei Onaindia, Akash Mishra; Joao Victor, Hitesh Sharma; Mohammad Yasir, Bartholomew Ogbeche, Halicharan Narzary; Javier Siverio

Man to watch

Jamshedpur’s defence made things easy for FC Goa in the last game. Their captain Peter Hartley needs to hold the backline together and keep them disciplined throughout against the handsome attack of Hyderabad FC. Hartley will ensure the team doesn’t fall prey to smooth fluid movement of the ball by Hyderabad FC players led by Joao Victor.

A large entity of fans would think that Bart Ogbeche will be the biggest threat for Jamshedpur FC. But eyes also must be on Joao Victor in the heart of the midfield. Jamshedpur FC’s midfield has been a concern this season and a figure like Victor can utilise that to open up the defence. Joao has already scored two goals this season. Consequently, he will be a threat if not marked properly.
