The past week saw some sensational individual performances in the league.

Indian Super League (ISL) 2022-23 is turning out to be as entertaining as expected. Last week's round of matches saw plenty of fabulous football action in the premier division of the country. Mumbai City FC and ATK Mohun Bagan played out a 2-2 draw which saw both teams deliver quality football.

Hyderabad FC continued their incredible start to the season with a 1-0 win over Odisha FC. Kerala Blasters earned three points as well after defeating NorthEast United. FC Goa was in a league of their own during their 3-0 win over Jamshedpur FC.

Those games and the others had several players turn up for their teams and perform outstandingly. Here is a look at the top five performers from the game week five of the 2022-23 ISL:

Sahal Abdul Samad (Kerala Blasters)

Sahal Abdul Samad was brilliant for Kerala Blasters in their 3-0 win over NorthEast United. Ivan Vukomanovic’s men had a lot of pressure heading into the game and Sahal was the player that really stood above the rest.

The midfielder scored a brace to guide his team to a second win of the season. Despite coming on as a substitute and playing 25 minutes, Sahal showed his quality and made a strong claim to be a regular in the starting lineup.

Mohammad Yasir (Hyderabad FC)

Mohammad Yasir of Hyderabad FC has had a strong start to the 2022-23 ISL season. Manolo Marquez's faith in him is paying its dividends. The Nizams are sitting atop the league standings after winning four of their first five matches of the season.

The game against Odisha FC at the G.M.C. Balayogi Athletic Stadium was a close one, but Yasir made a telling difference by scoring the solitary goal of the game. He carried his form from the previous games and got on the scoresheet for the first time this season.

Noah Sadaoui (FC Goa)

Noah Sadaoui is turning out to be one of the best signings in the ISL so far. He has taken to life really well at FC Goa. The attacker was a significant figure in a 3-0 win over Jamshedpur FC. He scored the second of the three goals for the Gaurs by finding space past the defensive line and finishing in the bottom right corner with precision.

That particular goal was crucial as it gave FC Goa breathing space and broke Jamshedpur’s resolve. Noah has two goals and one assist in 260 minutes of gametime. If his current form remains for long, it will bode well for the Gaurs towards completing the season’s objectives.

Vafa Hakhamaneshi (Chennaiyin FC)

Vafa Hakhamaneshi was the hero for Chennaiyin FC in their 1-0 win over East Bengal. His goal in the 69th minute was the difference between the two teams in a gruelling contest. The tightly fought game saw the solitary goal from the Iranian who scored with a thumping header.

However, due to a controversial celebration post the goal, the defender was shown a second yellow card. Thankfully, the Marina Machans held on to their lead and secured all three points away from home.

Joni Kauko (ATK Mohun Bagan)

The fixture between Mumbai City FC and ATK Mohun Bagan was highly anticipated due to the plethora of stars on the field. One of them was Joni Kauko, who played a key role in helping the Mariners come away with a point from the Mumbai Football Arena.

The midfielder was responsible for the first of the two goals after his shot took a deflection off of Mehtab Singh and went into the back of the net. Furthermore, Kauko was his usual self during the game, keeping the ball moving, providing cover to the defence and being a significant figure in the centre of the field.
