This will be the nation's golden generation's last opportunity to achieve the benchmark among France, Germany and Spain.

Despite having numerous accomplished stars, Belgium have never won an international championship; compared to other nations, its past does not appear resounding. They have only made it to the World Cup semi-finals and quarter-finals.

This time, it will be another willingness for reincarnation. If they fall flat, their golden generation tag will be erased, with many indispensable players such as Hazard, De Bruyne, and Lukaku competing in their final World Cup. The bar is high this time as there are several favourites to win the trophy, including Portugal, whom Belgium defeated 1-0 in Euro 2020.

But it remains to be seen whether Belgium delivers this time and whether this World Cup will end their major title wait.

Roberto Martinez has put together a compelling squad.

There is no doubt that Belgium have a dynamic squad that will excel on the field. Every match should be viewed as a final showdown, as any nation in this World Cup can outplay you.

They should take note of their 3-2 victory over Japan, as they were on the cusp of shame. Belgium escaped a 2-0 defeat by rallying and going on to win 3-2 in the second half. Being confident fine, but if they are being overconfident, this will be once more one of those crippling tournaments.

Qualification

Belgium had an easier path to World Qualification, given they were not in a demanding group. Belgium, Wales, Belarus, the Czech Republic, and Estonia were seeded in the same group. Martinez's men finished first with 20 points and went undefeated in eight games. They only drew with Wales and the Czech Republic, however.

Belgium have an easy say in Group F.

The Red Devils should seamlessly progress to the round of 16, considering their group includes Croatia, which will not portray much of a hindrance, as well as Canada and Morocco. They should certainly qualify for the round of 16, and if they finish second, they will be termed as an afterthought with no competing demeanour, despite possessing world-class players.
