Great creators have represented the Les Blues over the years
The Les Blues have had a significant amount of heroes over the years and many have made their names for scoring loads of goals but will we not appreciate the ones providing them the service? France football have reigned over World football for many years now, so let’s have a look at the top three players with most assists for the France National Football Team:
Zinedine Zidane (26 Assists, Playing Career for France: 17th August 1994- 9th July, 2006)
The most iconic figure in the history of France Football, he is widely considered by many to be among the 10 players who ever graced the beautiful game. The 1998 Ballon d'Or holder, was a playmaker renowned for his elegance, vision, passing, ball control, and technique. Also holding the accolade of being one of the top most managers in the World at this moment, Zizou’s first touch was a thing of beauty, while his skill and overall understanding of the game made him an absolute nightmare to play against.
He prioritized ball retention more than anything, and emphasized onan attractive attacking style with possession and speed as the main principles of his game. He was the FIFA World Player of the year for two years in a row in 1999 and 2000 consecutively, and achieved the same award again in 2003. The Golden Ball winner of 2006 FIFA World Cup, his career came to a shocking stand still when he was sent off against Italy in the final of the 2006 World Cup.
He hung up his boots immediately after that dreadful incident. Pirouetting his way around his opponents, he has a total of 26 assists in a total of 108 appearances for the Les Blues.
Thierry Henry (27 Assists, Playing Career for France: October 11 1997, June 22nd 2010)
A lone striker during his days, France football witnessed their potential best with him leading the strike line. Given his versatility in being able to operate as both a winger and a striker, he was a king of assists due to his unselfish play and mind-boggling creativity.
Although renowned for his goal scoring prowess, his ability to wriggle through situations and find pin point passes to break through innumerable defenses has made him probably the greatest ever player in the history of the English Premier League. Often pairing him with him Dutch veteran Dennis Bergkamp during his days at Arsenal, Arsene Wenger discovered his true potential.
The French striker had a trademark style, playing the game with the swagger of complete self-assurance, but never a trademark goal. No signature move. But that is what made Henry so great. He was named French Player of the Year a record five times, and is currently the assistant coach for the Belgian National team. Netting in a total of 51 goals for the Les Blues, he also holds a total of 27 assists making him the second-highest assister for France.
Antoine Griezmann (28 Assists, Playing Career for France: 5th March 2014- Present)
The all round player with the ability to orchestrate the midfield and have an effective vision for offensive play, he became the highest assister for France after teasing in a peach of a delivery for Olivier Giroud in their 2-1 Quarter final triumph over England in the ongoing FIFA World Cup 2022. Having represented France for a mammoth 115 times, he happens to be the third highest goal scorer for Les Blues too (42 Goals) behind Thierry Henry (51 Goals) and Olivier Giroud (53 Goals).

He made his name as a second striker for Les Bleus and Atletico Madrid, hence playing as a "No. 9.5" -something of a hybrid between a centre-forward and a playmaker just behind the striker. His ingenuity and the way he has changed his role in the pitch to drop deep down the lines and control the passage of the play over the years has been a key factor for Didier Deschamps and his men.
The likes of Karim Benzema and Olivier Giroud has capitalized on his service and made a name for themselves too eventually. Already having a World Cup winner’s Medal for his heroics in 2018 FIFA World Cup, he and the French side are the hot favourites to lift the trophy yet again this time. Standing at just 31 years, we are hopeful he will top this chart for France in the upcoming years with flying colours.
