Kevin De Bruyne’s Manchester City contract expires in 2025

When his contract expires, Manchester City star Kevin De Bruyne may choose to move to the Major League Soccer (MLS) rather than accept Saudi Arabia’s offer.

The Manchester City mastermind is reportedly beginning to consider his options after his contract at the Etihad Stadium expires in 2025, according to The Athletic.

An example of the Manchester-based team’s reluctance to grant new contracts to their ageing players is Ilkay Gundogan’s free transfer to Barcelona.

According to the article, City would cut all ties to their star player emotionally if they received an offer from Saudi Arabia for around $115 million (£90 million).

De Bruyne has expressed his preference to move to Major League Soccer (MLS) over to the Middle East, nevertheless, in regards to a possible transfer.

Nonetheless, the attacking midfielder feels he still has a lot to offer at the greatest level of the game. But at 32, he’s beginning to think about what might be best for his family as well, and the Belgian finds retirement in America to be a far more enticing idea.

He still has 18 months left on his present contract at the Etihad, and the Cityzens have not gotten in touch with him about signing a new one.

De Bruyne may draw motivation from Lionel Messi’s present Inter Miami role in Major League Soccer. With the league and the Herons, the Argentine sensation has assumed a central role. The Man City star might want to sign a deal similar to Messi’s, which pays him around $150 million over two years if he were to move to the United States.

This Wednesday, the Cityzens and the Belgian midfielder will play their FA Cup match against Premier League struggling team Luton Town. Then, over the weekend, City plays United in a Premier League match in the Manchester Derby.
