Manchester United vs Newcastle: Head-to-head record
The Red Devils and the Magpies have played out some memorable encounters.
Premier League bout is right around the corner. This time the competition is between two currently outside top-six Premier League clubs, Manchester United and Newcastle United. This will be Manchester United’s 19th league fixture as well as that of Newcastle United. This match gives both sides a chance to end the 2024 calendar year with a win.
Manchester United after having a tough and embarrassing season. After Erik ten Hag left, United faithful were left with some peace. Moreover, with Ruben Amorim joining them later, they felt nothing could go wrong now. However, we still see them losing games here and there, leaving the new coach Amorim a lot to think about in the January transfer window.
Under the new manager, many players have gained their confidence back, however, they are still far off the United we know from back in the day. After beating Manchester City 2-1, they lost three games in all competitions, needing way more energy and thoughts to turn around the season from Amorim.
Newcastle are currently seventh in the league. They are trying to sneak into the top four if not the top six spots this season. The Magpies have lost five games this season and drawn a further five. They have won eight times which is two more than United till now.
