The Japanese midfielder is out of contract next summer

Daichi Kamada, a midfielder for Eintracht Frankfurt, has become one of the most sought-after free agents heading into the summer, with teams all across Europe interested in the Japanese star.

Kamada has scored 18 league goals and an additional 14 in European competitions during his three-and-a-half seasons with Eintracht, where he was a key component in their UEFA Europa League triumph the previous seasons.

A number of Premier League clubs including Manchester United have approached Kamada as he weighs his options. Nevertheless, he is also weighing the opportunity to stay in Germany, where he has performed since signing Eintracht in 2017, and Dortmund are leading the race.

But Daichi Kamada is not a replacement for Jude Bellingham, according to sources at Borussia Dortmund, who still want to keep the England international.

Sebastian Kehl, the sporting director at Dortmund, has already acknowledged his admiration for Kamada, telling ZDF that the youngster is "very interesting. With Shinji Kagawa, we once had a Japanese player, and everything went well at the time.”

The 26-year-old also played in all four of Japan's World Cup matches, which saw them defeat Germany and Spain to advance to the round of 16.

About the Bellingham circumstance, Kehl responded as follows: "Yes, I'll make an effort to extend his contract. Jude and his family haven't heard from us yet. The football player feels at ease and fully present."

If the England international were to switch clubs this summer, he would become the most costly player in British footballing history with a reputed price tag of £132 million.

However, as per prominent journalist Fabrizio Romano, a verbal deal between Dortmund and Kamada on a free transfer is almost ready, and there are a few formalities is remaining to be done before it becomes official.

It is also understood that Kama will sign a five-year contract with the German giants.
