We want to settle scores with Hyderabad FC, claims Dimitri Petratos

Dimitri Petratos wants to go back to Australia on the back of a win.

The Indian Super League and Hero Super Cup are over. ATK Mohun Bagan have only one ambition in their mind - that is to end the season with a win the AFC Cup playoff against Hyderabad FC. After crowned champions of the ISL 2022-23 season, the Mariners have received the opportunity to showcase some more brilliancy and make their way into the AFC Cup group stages, for a third time in a row.

Before heading towards Kozhikode to play the game, ATK Mohun Bagan's talismanic forward Dimitri Petratos shared his views.

The urge to do well in Asia

ATK Mohun Bagan have reached the AFC Cup knockout stages twice ahead of this term. This season has also been fantastic for the side. Dimitri Petratos wants to go higher up than they did last time out.

He asserted, "This AFC Cup playoff is very important to us. We don't want to halt after winning the ISL. Last year we made it till the Inter-zonal semi-final. This time our target is to go further. If we are able to do well in the continental level, it will enrich the club's name and fame."

Settle the scores with Hyderabad FC

ATK Mohun Bagan have defeated Hyderabad FC once in the ISL and suffered defeat at their hands once too. When it comes to settling the scores, Dimitri Petratos seemed achieving the same. He stated, "We have to defeat Hyderabad FC. This is the last game of the season. If we want to start the upcoming season on a high, winning this game is very important.

"Hyderabad FC are a tough opponent. They ended second in the league. We have both the experiences of losing and defeating them. We want to settle the scores in our favour this time," he added.

Who will play against Hyderabad FC?

Juan Ferrando has a fully available roster to choose his players for the Hyderabad FC game. Dimitri Petratos adds light to the situation, "Everybody knows the strengths and weaknesses of Hyderabad FC. Our coach has been training us according to it. After Hamill (Brendan) joining the training, all the foreign players are now available to the coach. Of course, who'll play will be decided by the coach. Personally, I am fully ready to win the game. I want to go back to my country (for holiday) with a successful outing."
