Kerala Blasters FC is delighted to announce that defender Hormipam Ruviah has signed a new contract with the club. The long-term extension will see him don the Blasters colours until 2027.
Hormipam’s football journey is an awe-inspiring reflection of his dedication and drive. Hailing from Somdal, a small village in Manipur, Hormipam’s football is an awe-inspiring reflection of his dedication, drive, and passion for football.
Despite many hurdles through his early years, Hormipam remained focused and got his first break in 2016 when he was selected for the SAI academy.
His football career grew steadily ever since with his aggressive style of defending earning him plenty of praise. In 2021, Hormipam was signed by Kerala Blasters FC, in a season where his partnership with Croatian defender Marko Lešković at the back end of the formation, played a pivotal role in the club eventually reaching the ISL finals.
Hormipam has already been a part of the national team set-up at all levels. He made his national team debut against Belarus in an international friendly last year.
The centre-back has 38 appearances so far for the Club, a number that will surely increase over the course of his next 5 years with the club.
Karolis Skynkys speaks
“Hormipam has been one the most hardworking members of our squad ever since he played his first game for us. There’s been an active effort on his part to constantly improve and get better with every passing fixture.
This work ethic has helped him string together some very impressive performances. He is still young and you can see his game improving even further with more experience. Wishing him nothing but the best for the upcoming season.”
