Borussia Dortmund could end Bayern Munich's ten years of dominance

The Bundesliga heads into its final weekend, and so does the race for the title. Borussia Dortmund have taken the lead over Bayern Munich and are on the verge of their first title since the Jurgen Klopp era.

Borussia Dortmund took a two-point lead against Bayern Munich last weekend. The defending champions lost their match 1-3 at home against RB Leipzig. Dortmund played the next day and won their match. This gave them the lead over Thomas Tuchel's men. Dortmund need to win their final match of the season to confirm the Bundesliga title.

They face FC Mainz 05 in their final match of the weekend. Dortmund have won the last four meetings between the two teams. Edin Terzic's side heads into this match as the favourites and have low odds of around 1.2 to win the match. Dortmund have scored 56 goals in the 18 games played after the World Cup. They have collected 45 points in the process and average 2.5 points per game. This run has boosted the team's confidence, and they head into the final weekend as the favourites to lift the title. They will find no better place than Signal Iduna Park to lift the trophy.

Bayern Munich's fate depends more on them than on Borussia Dortmund. They can only win the title if Dortmund drops points against Mainz and they win their match. Tuchel's men face FC Koln away from home and have low winning odds of 1.3. In the last meeting, Koln earned a 1-1 draw at the Allianz Arena. Bayern Munich are the clear favourites to win the match, but they are totally dependent on the result of their rivals.

The relegation battle is also interesting as three teams fight for survival in the German top division. Hertha Berlin have already been relegated. Schalke 04 returned to the Bundesliga this season, but they look like the favourites to go down. They are on 31 points, one point behind VfL Bochum and Stuttgart.

Schalke faces RB Leipzig in their final match and have odds of 4.46 to win the match. Leipzig defeated Bayern Munich in their last match. They have qualified for the UEFA Champions League and might rest some big players. Schalke need to take advantage of the situation in a must-win match.

VfL Bochum also have a tough task in hand against Xabi Alonso's Bayer Leverkusen. Leverkusen needs a win to guarantee European football. They have odds of around 1.99 to win the match. If Leverkusen win their match and Schalke earns a point against Leipzig, then Bochum will be automatically relegated due to their poor goal difference.

Stuttgart faces Hoffenheim and are the favourite to win the match. Their fixture is easy compared to the other two teams. Stuttgart have odds of around 1.6 to win the match. They are currently sitting above the relegation play-off spot.

Bundesliga has become interesting at the top and bottom half of the table. Two teams battle for the title, and three teams battle for survival. The final weekend will bring joy to some fans and sorrow to others.
