The defending champions will be traveling west, as they get ready to take on the relegation-threatened Toffees on Sunday evening.

Manchester City's treble charge continues this weekend, as they take on lowly Everton away at Goodison Park. Their path towards achieving the famed combination of trophies including the Premier League, Champions League and FA Cup isn't getting any easier. They're coming off a highly contested 1-1 draw midweek against Real Madrid in the Champions League and will heavily rotate their squad, keeping next week's second leg in mind.

Pep Guardiola will be hoping that the likes of Julian Alvarez, Riyad Mahrez, and Phil Foden will be ready to step up against Everton, who are never easy to face away at Goodison. However, maintaining a slender one-point lead at the top over Arsenal with a game in hand is crucial to keep the momentum towards the league title.

Meanwhile, Everton managed to create a two-point barrier over the nearest relegation rivals, and currently find themselves in the 17th spot, after pulling off a huge 1-5 victory over Brighton away last week. They managed to score five goals for the first time this season and convincingly defeated a Brighton side chasing Europe, last week. They face the biggest challenge this week in the defending champions visiting to keep their title ambition going and the Blues will be hoping to pull off an upset win and consolidate their position away from relegation.

Kick-off:

Sunday, 14th May 2023, 01:00 pm (GMT)

Sunday 14th May 2023, 06:30 pm (IST),

Everton form (all competitions): W-D-L-D-L

Manchester City form (all competitions): W-W-W-W-W

Players to watch out for

Everton: Dwight McNeil

Since Sean Dyche's first game in charge in February, Dwight McNeil has been arguably the most influential player for Everton. He has (seven - five goals, two assists) goal contributions. Three of those came in the huge win against Brighton on Monday, as they steered clear of the relegation zone. Sean Dyche will need his key man to deliver again against City and continue the good run of form.

Manchester City: Erling Haaland

The Norwegian superstar has set the Premier League alight this season with his outrageous athleticism, physicality and most importantly, goal-scoring form. He's already broken almost every single goal-scoring record available this season, including the golden boot and the all-time season record, and is currently on 35 goals. Despite failing to score mid-week against Real, the Norwegian will be looking to add to his tally and target to reach the 40-goal mark for the first time, and create history. The game against Everton will be a physically gruelling one, and the Norwegian's physical dominance will be the key threat against the opposition backline.

Everton have scored the fewest home goals in the Premier League this season (15).

Manchester City are on a 10 game winning run in the Premier League, which is the highest consecutive win streak. Liverpool have a 6 game winning streak behind them.

Match Prediction for Everton vs Manchester City

This could be a seriously tricky fixture for the Cityzens as this tie could end up being a potential banana skin on route to retaining the Premier League. As seen from previous year's fixture, this game can be potentially cagey, with many controversial moments defining the result in the end. However, City's experience in these situations, along with the ability to bring game changers from the bench could prove to be the difference in the end.

Prediction: Everton 0 - 1 Manchester City
