The highly valued centre-back is set to make the switch from Sreenidi Deccan.

NorthEast United FC are set to strengthen their defensive unit with the signing of Soraisham Dinesh Singh from Sreenidi Deccan FC, Khel Now can confirm. The 25-year-old, who helped Sreenidi become the runners-up of the I-League 2022-23, was a vital cog in their backline.

"NorthEast United is set to acquire the services of Manipuri centre-back Soraisham Dinesh Singh on a multi-year deal and is currently in the final stage now. The defender will make his way to the Indian Super League (ISL) subject to the completion of all the formalities," a source close to the development informed Khel Now.

About The Player

Born on December 9, 1997, in Huikap Mayai Leikai, Manipur, the defender started his career at the grassroots level in Manipur and went on to represent Royal Wahingdoh FC.

In 2016, Dinesh signed for Anouba Imagi Mangal. After a brilliant set of performances, he was roped in by Real Kashmir FC in 2017 where he managed to make four appearances for the Snow Leopards.

In 2017, Tiddim Road Athletic Union (TRAU) FC brought in Dinesh Singh. He featured for them in their debut season of the I-League 2nd Division. With Dinesh at the backline, TRAU FC managed to clinch promotion to I-League in 2019 after becoming the champions of the I-League 2nd Division. He made a total of 26 appearances for the Red Pythons in all competitions which includes the I-League, I-League 2nd Division, Durand Cup, etc.

In 2021, his graph turned further up after his move to Telangana-based outfit Sreenidi Deccan FC. He quickly became a solid presence in the backline with his defensive abilities and skills. He made a total of 22 appearances for Sreenidi Deccan FC across all competitions and managed to score two goals and two assists as a defender.

The 25-year-old will be a great addition to NorthEast United FC’s roster given his ability to play across multiple positions. A centre-back by trade, he can also pitch in as an offensive right-back, even a left-back if required.
