Kerala defender Sachu Siby set to sign for Chennaiyin FC

The defender won the Kerala Premier League last season.
Indian Super League outfit Chennaiyin FC are set to complete the signing of promising left-back Sachu Siby on a multi-year contract, Khel Now can confirm.
"The 22-year-old Kerala defender will join Chennaiyin FC on a free transfer from Kerala Premier League outfit Kerala United FC", a source close to the development informed Khel Now.
About the Player
Born on March 31, 2001, in Kerala, Sachu Siby had his grassroot level training at the local level near his hometown.
He later went on to join the U-18 team of Ozone FC. His career took a turn when the newly formed Kerala United FC, under the guidance of prominent coach Bino George, scouted him in 2020.
Head Coach Bino George always referred to him as a raw diamond and Sachu quickly adapted to Bino George's system and soon became an eminent player in the team. He quickly rose to fame in the Kerala Premier League (KPL) with his pace and agility. He clocked as the fastest left-back of the KPL in that season.
The defender continued to make an impact on the team through his consistency and helped his team lift the 2022-23 Kerala Premier League trophy in his last season with the club.
Chennaiyin FC’s preparations for the 2023-24 season
The Marina Machans seem to have trusted Irfan to make the big step, and the player will no doubt want to back the belief the club has shown. Chennaiyin let go of all their foreign players, and have lost key starting midfielders in the form of captain Anirudh Thapa and Edwin Vanspaul to Kolkata giants Mohun Bagan Super Giant and East Bengal, respectively.
The club mutually parted ways with Thomas Brdaric, and have been given a huge boost in the form of the returning Owen Coyle, who took the team to great heights during his stint. Goalscoring maestro Irfan Yadwad will also join the club, as revealed by Khel Now earlier. Recently, the club announced Sweden Fernandes as their first signing of the window, and Sachu Siby's addition will bolster their ranks with more attacking firepower.
