Potential destinations for the French star this summer
Antoine Griezmann's availability on the market has sparked interest from several top clubs around Europe, MLS and Saudi Arabia. Antoine Griezmann, known for his technical ability, goal-scoring capabilities, and versatility in attack, is undoubtedly an attractive target for teams looking to bolster their offensive firepower.
As the summer transfer window is ongoing and dynamic, the speculation surrounding Griezmann's future intensifies and we could see developments that can change the situation around the French international. Antoine Griezmann's departure seems increasingly likely in this transfer window.
Five clubs have the financial stability to sign Antoine Griezmann this summer:
5. Juventus
After Dusan Vlahovic made it clear that he wants to leave the club, Juventus will look at several options this summer. Italian outfit Juventus are one team who could be interested in acquiring Antoine Griezmann's services, and there is a justification behind this.
The Old Lady are currently going through a slump and they will be looking for a squad overhaul this summer, but given their current financial state, it is rather unlikely that they will splurge big amounts. Instead, Massimiliano Allegri’s team is predominantly looking to acquire world-class talent on loan deals or free transfers, and this is where Antoine Griezmann fits the bill. After Dybala's departure, Antoine Griezmann could prove to be a like-for-like replacement for the Italian side.
4. Manchester United
Like Juventus, Manchester United are a team that rated the Frenchman very highly when he was at his peak and was among the contenders to sign him. Things have changed ever since, but interestingly, both Griezmann and the Red Devils could be a beneficial deal for both parties involved.
Erik ten Hag enquired about Griezmann last summer also but he chose Atletico Madrid. Their check on Griezmann is significant in highlighting the club's dual policy of recruiting pedigreed winners that can contribute now like Raphael Varane and Casemiro, change the culture of the club along with gifted youngsters with a high ceiling. It also points to the desire, sometimes quietly to find a remedy for how light Erik ten Hag's attacking options are and they have put in work on Napoli's Victor Osimhen and Tottenham's Harry Kane.
3. Bayern Munich
Antoine Griezmann was heavily linked with a move to Bayern Munich a few years ago, and though it is certain that interest in his services has gone down drastically recently, the Bavarians could still fancy a move if they can get it for cheap and find a proper replacement for Lewandowski.
The reason is somewhat similar to Juventus's financial situation, after their goal-machine Robert Lewandowski making a move to Barcelona, Bayern really have not found a perfect replacement for the striker. While statistics will suggest Antoine Griezmann will not be the perfect replacement for Lewandowski, he could prove to be a more-than-handy backup option. His performances in the World Cup were the best that we have seen from Antoine Griezmann in a long time, he was most certainly everywhere for the French team, from crucial interceptions to scoring and providing assists.
2. Al-Nassr
Al-Nassr have reportedly held talks with the Atletico Madrid star's representatives, we could see Griezmann link up with Cristiano Ronaldo at the Saudi club. Ronaldo would surely relish Griezmann's arrival at Al-Nassr, though, with the Portuguese having insisted that the Saudi Pro League is on track to develop into one of the world's top five divisions in the next five years.
Griezmann was in electric form for Atletico last season, he scored 15 LaLiga goals, while also providing 17 assists. However, the report states that the Spanish club may need to raise funds and would be happy to shift the forward's high wages. The Saudi League is having an aggressive period of recruitment, they have already bought the likes of Ronaldo, Benzema, N'Golo Kante, and many players across the globe have shown interest in signing for the Saudi league. Al-Nassr will continue to strengthen their squad this summer, although it remains to be seen if Griezmann moves to Saudi Arabia.
1. Inter Miami
Inter Miami have already made a drastic change after signing Lionel Messi and finally acquiring his long-time teammate Sergio Busquets a few days ago. Atletico Madrid star Antoine Griezmann has revealed his ambition to follow his former teammate Lionel Messi and join him in the MLS. Griezmann has also expressed his desire to move to the United States as well.
The two men have previously played together at Barcelona for a time, and although Griezmann still plans to stick around in Europe for a while yet, he can also see the appeal of playing in the MLS at some point in the future. Griezmann initially returned to Atletico on loan from Barca in 2021, and that move was made permanent after a lengthy saga that saw the club successfully avoid paying his €40 million release clause. Despite his current contract at Atletico until 2026, Griezmann was asked about a potential MLS switch this summer, the striker was clear in his ambitions to play in the USA.
