The Rajasthan-based club has got assurance from the Govt. of Rajasthan for providing them with a stadium to compete in the upcoming season of the I-League.

The All India Football Federation (AIFF) in it’s press release informed that I-League side Rajasthan United has failed the club licensing criteria for the upcoming season after failing to propose a stadium name.

The excerpt of the statement issued by the AIFF on Saturday evening read, “Rajasthan United FC will need to provide the Committee documentation pertaining to the stadium that they propose to play out of for the upcoming season. Post this submission, the committee will take a final call on their exemption request.”

As revealed exclusively by Khel Now in April, Jaipur, in all certainty, will play host to Rajasthan United's I-League matches.

RUFC will compete from Rajasthan

Rajasthan United had played their home matches from the Ambedkar Stadium in Delhi as there were no facilities available in Rajasthan. However, this season Rajasthan United FC will compete from the home state only, Khel Now can confirm.

A source close to the management exclusively spoke to Khel Now on the basis of anonymity on this matter by saying, “The club has received the letter of Government of Rajasthan that they will provide the stadium and we have provided the same to the AIFF. We have not yet got the stadium and once we will get it we will submit the stadium (name) to the AIFF in the coming months.”

RUFC's past I-League season

Rajasthan United finished on the 9th spot in the 12 teams competition in their debut season after gaining promotion from the Hero 2nd division league which was organised centrally in Bengaluru in the year 2021.

The source meanwhile has also stated that there has been no deadline given to the club for submitting the stadium name and said, “ There is no specific deadlines given by the AIFF. We will submit the name once it is given to us by Government of Rajasthan, “ he concluded.

The AIFF, earlier this month announced that they have accepted the corporate entry bid for five new clubs making 16 clubs participating for the upcoming season of I-League.
