Rajasthan United to play next I-League season in Jaipur
Rajasthan United played their home games of the 2022-23 season in the Ambedkar Stadium, Delhi.
From the 2023-24 edition of the I-League, Rajasthan-based outfit Rajasthan United will be playing their home games in the Vidya Dhar Nagar Stadium in Jaipur. A Rajasthan United official informed Khel Now, "This is just proposed and we are currently working on it with the state government. The tender will be released soon."
The government of Rajasthan has allocated 10 crores INR for the refurbishment of the Vidya Dhar Nagar Stadium. For the betterment of not only football but also hockey, this step has been taken by the government. The stadium, after the refurbishment will comprise of an astro turf, and flood lights. Dressing rooms and seating chairs. The money above has been allotted to this purpose.
Rajasthan United in I-League 2022-23
Rajasthan United played their home matches of the I-League 2022-23 season at the Ambedkar Stadium in Delhi. They finished the league on the ninth position, getting hold of 25 points from 22 games. However, the Desert Warriors competed well in the Durand Cup 2022, where they registered a win against ATK Mohun Bagan. They also qualified for the quarter-finals, where they got knocked out by Hyderabad FC.
Rajasthan United did pretty well in the winter transfer market too, as two of their youngsters, Hardik Bhatt and Gyamar Nikum were signed by ISL giants Mumbai City FC.
The team recently played the Hero Super Cup qualifiers but failed to secure qualification to the group stages of the competition.
