Eli Sabiá's Football Journey
Eli Sabiá's journey in professional football commenced in his homeland, Brazil, with Paulista FC. Over the years, he honed his skills and gained valuable experience while playing for various clubs, including Lausanne, Santos, Atlético Paranaense, São Caetano, Brasiliense, Criciúma, Botafogo-SP, Água Santa, Sampaio Corrêa, Sertãozinho, and Al-Raed.
The Brazilian defender ventured into the Indian football scene when he signed for Chennaiyin FC in 2016. After a brief stint elsewhere, he returned to Chennaiyin in 2018, where he solidified his place as an integral member of the team and was eventually bestowed with the captain's armband. Sabiá's leadership and commanding presence on the field played a pivotal role in Chennaiyin FC's success during his tenure.
In 2021, Sabiá made a move to Jamshedpur FC, where he continued to showcase his defensive skills and maintained his status as one of the league's top defenders. As of the latest season, he has amassed an impressive record of 100 appearances in the Indian Super League, with 149 interceptions, 525 clearances, three goals, and three assists.
