The 20-year-old has represented the Blue Tigers in the U-16 and U-19 levels

Aizawl FC youngster Lalchhanhima Sailoo is set to sign for Indian Super League side Hyderabad FC on a 3-year deal, Khel Now can exclusively confirm. The Nizams have paid an undisclosed transfer fee to acquire the services of a young Indian international.

The source close to the development revealed, "Sailoo has signed a 3-year deal with Hyderabad FC, and he is expected to fly to Hyderabad on Thursday for his medicals and join the team in their pre-season, which starts later this week."

About Lalchanhima Sailo

The 20-year-old has represented India in the AFC U-16 Asian Championship and has played in the I-League for four years. He represented the AIFF developmental side, the Indian Arrows, between 2019 and 2022. Last season, the AIFF decided to discontinue their project, and the Mizoram-born player decided to represent the club from his own state. Sailo, who can play as a winger and an attacking midfielder, has had a decent first season, where he scored three goals in 19 games.

How is Hyderabad FC shaping up?

The Nizams are currently in the rebuilding stage, as there have been numerous changes in the team along with the backroom staff over the summer. Their previous head coach, Manolo Marquez, has joined rival FC Goa following the expiration of his contract. Akash Mishra, the young Indian fullback who was an inspiration in the Indian National Team’s recent success in the Hero Intercontinental League and SAFF Bangabandhu Championship, has left the Hyderabad side for Mumbai City FC.

Meanwhile, the club has announced Thangboi Singto, the experienced Indian coach, as the head coach for the upcoming season. Irishman Conor Nestor has also joined the outfit as an understudy to Singto, along with Shameel Chembakath, who will be the second assistant coach for the South Indian side.
