Kerala Blasters FC have confirmed about the injury to their Australian striker Jaushua Sotirio during pre-season training. He is set to miss a significant portion of the upcoming season. The 27-year-old forward joined the Indian Super League side two months ago.
Kerala Blasters FC have released an official statement about the injury status:
"The Club would like to inform that forward Jaushua Sotirio suffered an ankle injury during a training session few days ago.
While the exact time frame for his full return is yet to be confirmed, upon initial assessment, Jaushua is likely to remain out of action until 2024. Our medical team, in collaboration with external specialists, will work diligently to provide him with the best possible care and support, ensuring his safe and efficient return to the field.
During his absence, we trust that our fans and supporters will continue to show their unwavering support for Sotirio.
We remain committed to Jaushua's well-being and recovery, and we will provide updates on his progress as he works towards returning to full fitness."
Kerala Blasters FC have started their pre-season training ahead of what promises to be an exciting 2023-24 campaign. Ivan Vukomanovic and his coaching team are leading the upcoming Durand Cup campaign starting in August as the immediate next target.
The new signing was looking to settle into the team. His ankle injury will delay his debut for the side. Kerala Blasters will hope that the Australian gains his full fitness on time and make an impact in as many games as he can.
