Ousmane Dembele turns down €200m offer from Saudi club Al Nassr

Barcelona signed the Frenchman in 2017
Barcelona forward Ousmane Dembele has rejected an offer from Saudi Pro League club Al Nassr.
The erstwhile Borussia Dortmund attacker is in negotiations for a new contract as his current Barcelona contract expires at the conclusion of the upcoming season.
Clubs, though, are hoping to lure him away from the Camp Nou this summer. The player has long been a target for Paris Saint-Germain, but Al Nassr was the first to take action.
The Saudi club agreed to pay the player's €50 million release clause as well as extend a whopping €200 million five-year contract to Dembélé. That offer won't, however, reach Barcelona's door because the player turned down the transfer.
Ousmane Dembele is the second French winger in a week to decline a transfer to the Saudi first division. Although Moussa Diaby received a sizable sum of money to relocate to the Gulf State, he chose to sign with Premier League team Aston Villa.
As reported by Foot Mercato, Cristiano Ronaldo's team Al-Nassr were planning to offer a five-year deal to the Frenchman, with a yearly salary of almost 40 million euros.
Dembele is rumoured to be in contract negotiations with Barcelona. Although he recently signed a new contract, the club wants to ensure his long-term success.
A year ago, it appeared that Dembélé's time in Catalonia would be coming to an end. However, following several strong showings in the previous campaign, Barca is trying to prolong the World Cup winner's contract.
His current deal expires in 2024, but Barca has given him the option of extending it through 2028. His bailout option is expected to rise as part of the new agreement to a sum of about €500 million.
