RB Leipzig pushing to get Xavi Simons on loan from PSG
PSG triggered his buy-back clause
Xavi Simons has completed his transfer to PSG but will only remain if Neymar and Kylian Mbappe leave, while a loan move is also viable as RB Leipzig are aiming to bring him on loan to the Red Bull Arena.
As strange as it may sound, Simons has been one of PSG's top targets this summer. The young forward has been linked with his former team primarily due to the existence of a buy-back provision in his contract with PSV, which enables the French organisation to purchase the player for a small amount of €6 million before July 31.
PSV announced early on Sunday that Simons had departed their training camp to finish his move back to Paris Saint-Germain.
If both Neymar and Mbappé stay at the club, Simons may be allowed to leave Parc des Princes on loan, according to Fabrizio Romano. RB Leipzig would aim to advance the Dutch to Eastern Germany in this situation.
Paris will be anxious to prevent Simons' outstanding development over the previous year with PSV from being stalled owing to a shortage of game time in the French capital by resigning him.
In light of the fact that Mbappé's future in Paris is now uncertain, the loan move makes sense for all sides if competition for front-line positions remains unchanged.
Simons is allegedly simply too expensive for Borussia Dortmund, according to Sport Bild. RB Leipzig, which is also rumoured to be interested, is in agreement. According to reports, Simons' contract has a €6 million release clause that only applies to Paris Saint-Germain.
Simons has not yet made a choice regarding his future, but PSG is alleged to have already notified him that they wish to use the option.
