FPL 2023-24: Top five transfers to make ahead of GW 4
In-form Maddison is the ‘must’ have for GW4
The first three Game Weeks of the 2023-24 Premier League season have flown past. As for the Fantasy Premier League players/managers, the focus shifts to the upcoming FPL GW 4. It is the last game week before the players go for the International Break. After which the fantasy players can surely take a breather.
But before we get there, we want to guide you through GW4 with our top 5 transfer picks to consider for your teams.
5. Eberechi Eze (Crystal Palace- £6.4m)
Eberechi Eze is someone who can pop 3 assists in a game and can hurt many FPL managers with a singular decent game-week performance. However, three games in, his return has been below average. The same could be said for the whole Crystal Palace squad as well.
They were supposed to be one of the dark horses this time around. But Eze is doing well, with movement and progressive passes, and Palace’s upcoming matches look better. In the last game, he could’ve scored or assisted twice based on stats- 1.96 x GI. Just stay patient, and Eze might bring in big points soon.
4. Raheem Sterling (Chelsea– £7.1m)
Raheem Sterling had a great GW3, scoring 2 goals and getting an assist against Luton Town, earning 19 points. Without any doubt, he is now the most popular pick for FPL GW4 at 7.1 Million. Chelsea also have a good schedule coming up, until they face Arsenal after 5 games. Sterling leads the league in penalty box touches this season with 35. However, any doubts will be regarding the Blues’ form not of the player as their unpredictability makes this a highly speculative gamble. But if it works, then it can be seen as a good buy.

3. Julian Alvarez (Manchester City- £6.6m)
Alvarez disappointed many FPL managers in GW3 but remains a strong choice due to consistent minutes, decent stats, and upcoming favorable fixtures. He should have had an assist in GW3 and missed a rare scoring opportunity. With Manchester City’s injuries, he’ll likely continue to play and take set pieces. Despite being out of position, his schedule for the next six GWs is easy, making him a valuable pick at his price.
2. James Maddison (Tottenham Hotspur– £7.6m)
Earlier this week, some managers sold James Maddison thinking he wouldn’t play in GW3, but with a 10-point return, he upset the lot. Maddison is now a top pick for GW4 because he plays a crucial role for Tottenham under Ange Postecoglou as he is getting lots of opportunities to score and create chances. He also has an easy schedule for the next six games, making him a great choice for long-term even.
1. Luis Diaz (Liverpool- £7.7m)
Lucho, Luis Diaz, might be the best player to transfer in from the Liverpool squad right now. Diaz had 2 goals in 2 games and could have had another against Newcastle in the last game but was subbed off in the first half because of the red card to Van Dijk. Consequently, this also tells that he is hungry for more and is fresh because he hardly played any minutes against the Magpies. While not many managers are thinking about Liverpool players, Diaz, in particular, could bring in good points for your team with upcoming easy matches in the next 3-4 weeks.
