India's Mohun Bagan Super Giant secured the chance for another prolonged continental cup run after they defeated Nepal's Machhindra FC 3-1 in their AFC Cup 2023/24 Preliminary Stage 2 match at Salt Lake Stadium on Wednesday.

Danilo Augusto's late strike sealed Abahani Dhaka Limited of Bangladesh a 2-1 win over Maldives' Club Eagles in their AFC Cup™ 2023/24 Preliminary Stage 2 tie at the Sylhet District Stadium on 16 August.

With home ground advantage, Abahani Dhaka started on the front foot and took the lead in the 21st minute through Cornelius Ezekiel.

They dominated proceedings from there on but a series of missed chances came back to haunt them with Ahmed Rizuwan equalising for Club Eagles in the 63rd minute. 

A stung Abahani Limited surged forward to regain their advantage with Augusto emerging the hero with his 89th minute strike. 

The AFC Cup 2023/24 group stage draw will be conducted on August 24.
