Sumeet Passi set to sign for Inter Kashi

The 28-year-old has also represented the national team in the past.
New I-League entrants Inter Kashi are set to rope in yet another exciting talent, in the looks of Sumeet Passi, ahead of the 2023-24 I League season, Khel Now can confirm.
A source tracking the development informed Khel Now this afternoon, “Former East Bengal player Sumeet Passi is set to sign for new I-League side Inter Kashi.”
This is Inter Kashi’s newest signing ahead of their first ever competitive season, and they have done well to rope in an experienced and versatile player, to pivot their attack and midfield.
About Sumeet Passi
28-year-old Sumeet Passi has the prior experience of playing at both I-League and ISL clubs, including Jamshedpur FC (ISL) and Punjab FC (when they were in I-League), with whom he had 28 and 22 appearances, respectively.
The player’s latest stint came with East Bengal, where Sumeet made a total of 15 appearances for the club last season, and also netted twice for his side in the Durand Cup.
Sumeet’s footballing journey started with the incentive of his father, who was a former Railways player and motivated his lad to embark on the same path. Sumeet took his initial footballing steps at the Chandigarh football academy, where he was finely nurtured into a top-notch talent.
In 2013, Sumeet made his professional debut with I-League outfit Pailan Arrows. In the 2014-15 season, Sumeet signed with Sporting Clube de Goa, and played at the club for two seasons, before being called up by NorthEast United.
Inter Kashi’s preparations
Newly established Inter Kashi have made a pretty strong inclusion to their squad, with the signing of Sumeet Passi. With the likes of former ISL shield winner Peter Hartley, young Muhammad Ajsal and experienced midfielder Sehnaj Singh already joining the club, Inter Kashi’s preparations ahead of the new season are looking impressive, and it will be interesting to see how the newborn club plays in its first ever I-League season.
