The English striker hasn’t been seen in action since January 2022.

It is being reported that Saudi Pro League club Al-Ettifaq are interested in signing axed Manchester United striker Mason Greenwood after it was announced that he would be leaving Old Trafford as part of an amicable decision between him and the club directed at the striker moving on.

Al-Ettifaq appointed Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard as their manager last summer, and have so far managed to sign the likes of Jordan Henderson from Liverpool at a wage of 700,000 pounds a week. It is being reported that Al-Ettifaq are ready to offer the outcasted striker €10m a year.

Gerrard’s Al-Ettifaq aren’t the only club interested in signing the Englishman. Many have reported a re-union with former United manager Jose Mourinho, who is currently manging AS Roma in the Serie A. He has also been linked with Turkish club Galatasaray.

After Greenwood was cleared of all his charges, speculations about whether he would return to Old Trafford or not arose. It was being reported for some time that he was training hard and might be making a return to the United first team. However, both the player and the club simultaneously announced that they would be severing their ties and moving on. Many have said that fan pressure and negative reactions to his possible return were the bulk of the reason of both of them parting ways.

As of now, it is not clear whether her would be sold or sent out on loan, or will his €70000 a week contract will be terminated. However, if United are to offload him, they will have to act fast because if they fail to do so before the closing of the transfer window on 1st September, they would have to pay him millions to leave.
